BITS is looking for a self-motivated Technical Writer who can work under minimal supervision and is responsible for writing, editing and re-writing of business requirements documentation, process specifications and related documentation for technical and business users. This position shall assist the Business Analyst in the delivery of the Business Requirement Document (BRD), System Requirement Specification (SRS) and other relevant documents and work products such as training materials.

Skills required

  • Based on the user needs, the technical writer will help prepare technical documentation of high quality. Work with technical staff to make products and instructions easier to use.
  • Write Business Requirement Documents and System Requirement Specification documents and other business artifacts with correct English language with no mistakes in grammar and typos.
  • Help reviewing, proofreading, and editing business documents as needed.
  • Use Microsoft Office suite, Visio, or any other third-party tools to prepare professional looking quality documents and artifacts to be delivered to the client.
  • 5 to 7 years of technical writing experience in federal IT projects supporting software implementation teams.
  • Ability to manage a full suite of documentation for a software development lifecycle process.
  • Excellent writing skills: must be able to write precise and persuasive content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

An urgent need for a full-time Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team. This position is located in Herndon, VA, and work is required to be performed in-office. The JavaScript Software Engineer will design and implement elegant user interfaces for websites and applications based on requirements created by internal business teams. BITS has a core focus on Data Visualization, web-services, machine learning, and real-time analytics. We are looking for a passionate JavaScript developer who can apply innovative methods to tackle any UI challenges thrown at them.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cutting-edge web technologies in the field of Data Visualization, Advanced Data Analytics, and AI.
  • Build responsive, distributed REST web services.
  • Help develop specifications for the design and development of User Interface elements for Web and Mobile Applications.
  • Build applications ensuring development meets all usability and accessibility requirements and standards.
  • Understanding of web page performance and optimization; building for speed and scale.
  • Working closely on Node.js and the common frameworks and npm modules.
  • Build prototypes and wire-frames as needed.
  • Interact directly with client project team members and operational staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of front end development experience (with core expertise in JavaScript): Node.js, Express.js, angular.js, react.js, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of server-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Expert in shell scripting — build, run, deploy on Linux Stack.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, proxy servers, load balancing, caching.
  • Expert knowledge of Web Servers (i.e. Apache, Nginx, Node.js, etc.).
  • Excellent problem solving skills and great attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Optional qualification: Cloud containerization and deployment experience.

  • Provide architectural direction for containerized services, GenAI infrastructure, and cloud-native deployments with an emphasis on performance, scalability, and security.

  • Build a high-performance engineering culture through mentorship, hiring, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of production-level experience as an engineer and technical lead building highly scalable and reliable software.
  • Minimum 3+ years of managerial experience building and leading technical engineering teams.
